Size & Fit

Use this guide to find the size that suits you best. Take your body measurements, compare them with the body-measurement chart below, and then check the size chart on the product page for the exact item you are buying.

Please note: The chart on this page shows body measurements, not garment or product measurements. Sizing and fit can vary depending on the style, fabric, stretch and design of each item, and may differ from other brands. Every product page has its own size chart, and if it differs from the general guide on this page, please follow the size chart on the product page.

How to Measure

For the most accurate result, use a soft tape measure and measure over light clothing or your underwear. Stand relaxed and keep the tape level and snug, but not tight. It helps to ask someone to measure for you, and to take each measurement twice.

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back and under your arms. An unpadded bra gives the most accurate reading.

Under Bust

Measure directly under your bust and straight around your back. This can help if you are between sizes on the bust.

Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, which is usually the narrowest part of your torso, roughly above your navel. Keep the tape comfortably relaxed and don't pull it in.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.

Which measurement matters most?

For jumpers, sweaters, cardigans and jackets, your bust is usually the most important measurement. For items worn closer to the body, check your waist and hips as well.

Fit Guide

Each product description and size chart will indicate the intended fit.

Slim fit: Sits closer to the body for a more defined shape.

Regular fit: A comfortable, balanced fit with natural room to move.

Relaxed fit: Cut with extra room through the body for a roomier, easy-going look.

Oversized fit: Intentionally loose. Choose your usual size for the intended oversized look, or size down for a closer fit.

Knitwear and Jackets: Fit Tips

Knitwear: Knitted fabrics usually have some natural stretch, but how much depends on the yarn and the style. Use the chart above for your body measurements. Check the product page separately for garment measurements, such as length and sleeve length, where provided.

Cardigans: Open-front styles are often worn loose, so you can usually choose your regular size. If you prefer a snugger, closed look, consider sizing down.

Jackets and coats: If you plan to wear a thick jumper underneath, think about whether you need extra room through the chest and arms, and consider the next size up.

Between Sizes?

If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the smaller size for a closer fit or the larger size for a more relaxed fit. For fabrics with little or no stretch, and for jackets or coats you plan to layer, we generally recommend the larger size.
